I just checked out your site again and noticed there is a golden variant of the Leopards.however, mine doesn't look like this one either! The body has the same colour, but the spots are slightly darker than the yellow/gold spots on the golden leopard in your photo. The longfin zebra danio is a captive-bred aquarium fish with long, flowing fins and a long tail, nearly three times the length of the ordinary zebra danio’s fins and tail. Really nice danio site by the way, I never knew there were so many Danios! lol The photo of the Leopard Danio you have on your site shows it with very dark blue spots, however, my Leopards have grey spots.is this again due to selective breeding? Their colours and patterns aren't that dark, so hopefully once they settle in, their true colours will show! Hopefully the group of Leopards I got will do well! I'm thinking of getting some Zebras to add to the Leopards to form a danio school like you mentioned, but I read on your site that Zebras and Leopards can be fin nippers, would this be a problem for other fish? Two fish will form a breeding pair, which they often keep for life. Keep the water warm, in the range of 77 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit (25 to 28 degrees Celsius), with a pH of 7. Spawning should be attempted in a roomy tank that has some exposure to the sun if possible, as natural sunlight triggers spawning. If you add them when theyre only a week or so old, you will lose most of them, probably all of them. Golden Zebra Danios are very easy to breed, and they may even do so on their own. Giant danios are relatively easy to breed, and the fry are fairly easy to raise. So if you have several breeding pairs in your tank they are likely to produce several. They prefer warmer water and feel comfortable from 65 to 80 ☏. They won’t suffer if you can maintain the water hardness between 5-15° DH. The ideal pH for Danios ranges from 6.5 to 7.5. Danios come in striking colors and patterns and have low care needs, making the fish a popular choice for beginner aquarists. But youd want to wait until they are at least a half inch, better, 3/4' inch long, so they wont be snack size anymore. Zebra Danios can scatter/lay 100 plus eggs during each breeding session. Danios are hardy fish and can tolerate a wide range of water variations thus, they become the perfect choice for newbies. Native to Southeast Asia, danios are active freshwater fish. Thanks for the informative reply The Wolf! FebruRobert The danio genus refers to 27 varieties of danios in the family Cyprinidae.
